Release of Monster, Human, Other

Saturday September 23 | 1:00PM - 3:00PM
We're excited to welcome Vancouver author Laurel Gale for the release party of Monster, Human, Other on September 23rd at 1pm.

Kirkus says “Sympathetic and winning, Isaac and Wren star in alternating, fast-paced chapters until they come together for the exciting conclusion."

The author will be reading from the book, discussing it and answering questions. She'll be available to sign copies as well!

This is a middle grade novel aimed at ages 8-12. All are welcome!



Vintage Books is excited to welcome local mystery author Sheila Simonson!

Saturday September 30 | 2:00PM - 3:00PM

Sheila Simonson is the author of sixteen published novels, ten of them mysteries. We will be celebrating the release of her current mystery Call Down the Hawk, which is set in the Columbia River Gorge and is a tale of failed fathers and feuding neighbors.


She will be talking about “People from Places You Know: How the story's setting can shape, and in some cases generate, characters.” Sheila is an accomplished mystery writer and welcomes readers and writers alike.


Sheila Simonson taught English and history at Clark College until she retired to write full time. She is the mother of a grown son and lives with her husband in Vancouver WA. She is currently working on an historical novel about the impact of the G.I. Bill of Rights on colleges in this country.


The author will be available for Q&A and to sign copies of her book.

Mollie is the author of the Crazy Cat Lady cozy mystery series, a non-cat mystery, and a short cat-fantasy story. Mollie is a member of the Oregon Writers’ Colony, Sisters in Crime, and the Cat Writers’ Association. This year she won a CWA Muse Medallion for her blogpost series, “Life Stages”. Mollie lives in Portland with her husband and a varying number of cats.
Signed copies of her book will be available for purchase.
