New Orleans Drawn and Quartered:
This collection of pencil drawings by New Orleans artist Olive Leonhardt
is from a 1000-copy limited printing designed by Mark Rollins and printed by Dale Press in 1938. Leonhardt was famous for her sardonic sketching of New Orleans culture, especially featuring African American life; her work is highly valued among collectors. In addition, this copy is signed and dated by writer Lyle Saxon, who wrote the foreword. The book is bound in blue burlap with 2 gilt labels. Our copy is sunned at the edges and down the spine, with light toning to the pages. All pages and drawings are clean, and the binding is tight.
