Some Upcoming Events to Put On Your Calendar!

Green Burial Guidebook Talk & Signing
Saturday May 26 | 2:00PM - 4:00PM
Mark your calendar to hear author Elizabeth Fournier speaking on Green Burial: Everything You Need to Plan an Affordable, Environmentally Friendly Burial

Funeral expenses in the U. S. average more than $10,000. And every year conventional funerals bury millions of tons of wood, concrete, and metals, as well as millions of gallons of carcinogenic embalming fluid. There is a better way, and Elizabeth Fournier, affectionately dubbed the “Green Reaper,” walks you through it step-by-step. She provides comprehensive and compassionate guidance, covering everything from green burial planning and home funeral basics to legal guidelines and outside-the-box options, such as burials at sea. Fournier points the way to green burial practices that consider both the environmental well-being of the planet and the economic well-being of loved ones.

This event is co-sponsored by the Clark County Green Neighbors Program & Vintage Books

Hedbor teaches a workshop on Independent Publishing,
What That Means (and entails).

Independent publishing can be confusing and overwhelming. So many choices! Lars will cover the difference between small press and self publishing and the pros and cons of each. He’ll be available for questions as well!

Lars D. Hedbor is an amateur historian, linguist, brewer, fiddler, astronomer and baker. Professionally, he is a technologist, marketer, writer and father. His love of history drives him to share the excitement of understanding the events of long ago, and how those events touch us still today.

His first novel, The Prize, was published in 2011, followed by The Light in 2013, and The Smoke, The Declaration, and The Break in 2014; The Wind was published in 2015, The Darkness in 2016, and The Path in 2017.

The Freedman is his new release in 2018. All his books will be available for purchase.

This event is free and open to the public. Come prepared to take notes!
